THE GETTY Research Institute, Los Angeles, is the latest to acquire the Deluxe Edition of my book, Vanishing Cuba. What an honor! I have always admired the Getty Center for its dedication to excellence. Knowing that my book has found a home there and will forever be available to view and study is outstanding.
The library’s collection includes over one million books, periodicals, study photographs, auction catalogs, and extensive special collections of rare and unique materials, focusing on art history, architecture, art, photography, and related fields.
The Getty Research Institute is dedicated to furthering knowledge and advancing understanding of the visual arts and their various histories through its expertise, active collecting program, public programs, institutional collaborations, exhibitions, publications, digital services, and residential scholars programs.
The Center’s 110-acre site is located on a hilly parcel in Brentwood, facing the Santa Monica Mountains. The iconic location is at the intersection of the twin axes, the San Diego Freeway, which bends northwards out of the Los Angeles street grid.
I look forward to visiting the Getty Center to view my book one day.
