Located in the shadow of Griffith Park and its iconic Observatory, the Los Feliz neighborhood hosts many independently owned shops, restaurants, and movie theaters. Their curated selection features the best of literary fiction, graphic novels, children’s books, California history and culture, political and social sciences, essays and nonfiction, and books on art, photography, film, and music. They also feature hand-picked magazines and zines, along with stationery and gifts. Their events program is nationally recognized and features prominent touring authors, local favorites, and debuts.

Skylight Books opened on November 1, 1996, on the former site of another local bookstore landmark, Chatterton’s.
